Penguin on the Run
This story is about the global climate crisis. Scientists have proved that the world is getting warmer and planet Earth is in trouble.
The question we’re all asking is; ‘What can we all do to help?’ This book asks a lot of questions that might get us talking about some ways to change our warming world. Now it’s over to you. You can start by talking about this story and maybe you can make Frank the Penguins video go viral.

Grandma’s Suitcase

A stunning realisation of the power of imagination. Grandma’s Suitcase works at so many different levels - for adults, for children, for reading alone and for being read to at bedtime or any other time of the day, come to that. This is a story of relationship and love and above all, it is about the strength and power of the imagination we all have if we could only free it up.

This is a magnificent achievement, something of which everyone involved should be proud. It is proof - if any was needed - that there is a writer in all of us. Free the imagination and who knows what might appear. I loved the illustrations which provide a beautiful adjunct to the text. I defy any child not to be charmed by the visual imagery. All in all this is a wonderful book which deserves to be read for many years to come.

Michael Morpurgo focused his praise on ‘The Vulture and the Lion’ by saying:
All I can say is that this is a terrific story, beautifully told, funny and meaningful, inventive and original. The illustrations are so perfectly in tune with the text, wonderful colours, and full of life. Children would love it. The child in me loves it! This is a very considerable achievement, and everyone involved should feel very proud. Bravo! Bravo!
The Elephant
Who Forgot
The Elephant Who Forgot is a touchingly beautiful insight into dementia. As someone who experienced my Grandmother’s mental decline through dementia, I found this book to be so simple and perfect in it’s explanation of the disease and how it can be explained to our children. Accompanied by wonderful, fun illustrations and produced by a group of local parents, The Elephant Who Forgot is in my opinion a must read for everyone, parents included.

Partners in Time
The Senghenydd Disaster occurred on this day in 1913, when an underground explosion ripped through Universal Colliery. It killed 440 men and boys (including one rescuer) and remains Britain's worst-ever mining disaster.

There was a children's book done about it recently ‘Partners in Time’ by Petra Publishing, which was really nicely done.

We are very excited about your new book ‘The Book Of Strength’. Many of us at school have signed up to the event on the 15th December 2020. I would like to ask if you could provide an overview of the wellbeing topics that you cover in each of your previous books and which age group or stage that they are most suitable to. The reason for this is that we are looking at the books to include them into the planning for the new curriculum for Wales as we wish to place well-being at the heart of the curriculum as it suggests but with real life experiences.

We have been fortunate enough to have you visit school in July 2019 where Mike delivered ‘The Elephant Who Forgot’. The impact of this was HUGE for one family but touched all learners and stakeholders.

If this workshop had never taken place we would have never had known the impact that their situation was having on their children. The conversations that were able to take place between everyone involved changed because of this book and raised awareness.

We would love to work with you to develop a curriculum that really does ‘ignite and inspire’ understanding, kindness and real situations that we can all relate too. If you have any future opportunities for our families and pupils to be involved, and raise awareness of well being and difficult conversations about life experiences, we would love to work with you.
